NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Virgin Atlantic Airways has selected Havas'
McKinney to handle creative duties, according to the marketer. WPP
Group's MEC
Interaction picks up communications planning and buying for the
account, which is valued at $7 million in paid media by the
marketer.

A short list of agencies preselected by the marketer will compete for the business.
The announcement comes after a review in which independent agency Taxi was said to have participated. The creative work had previously been with MDC Partner's Crispin Porter & Bogusky, which did not defend.
"From the start, McKinney showed their collaborative nature and proved they have both the strategic and creative teams that will help move forward the Virgin Atlantic brand in the U.S.," Chris Rossi, senior VP-North America, said in a statement.
McKinney will begin duties Aug. 15.
The review was conducted by Elizabeth Zea of agency search consultant Gilbert & Co., New York.
