The Human Rights Campaign, the largest national gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender political organization in the
United States, has teamed up with DDB Seattle to encourage the GLBT community to initiate serious discussions about
equal rights. A series of humorous spots starring Tom the Token Gay Friend illustrates just how difficult it is for
a gay person to get his straight friends to take the issue of gay rights seriously, as Tom encounters uncomfortable
silences and laughter during a dinner party, in his neighbor?s driveway and on the porch with his female friends.
Directed by Tom Gatsoulis, the spots direct viewers to HRC?s website, where they can find tips and suggestions for
how to get the message through. The campaign will run on LOGO, the new GLBT channel from MTV Networks, starting on
