In a major CRM bid, Relizon to buy Epsilon

Dayton, Ohio--In a move that makes it a customer relationship management powerhouse overnight, The Relizon Co. has announced it will acquire Burlington, Mass.-based database and analytics company Epsilon Inc. Under the deal, Epsilon will keep its name, and Corey Torrence, Epsilon's president-CEO, will continue to head the company, which will become the de facto CRM unit of Relizon. Relizon, whose roots are in billing, marketing and document management software, in recent years has been placing increased emphasis on CRM, though it's lacked critical database management and analytics capabilities-platforms that Epsilon provides. "It was a gap in our business that we couldn't supply," said Relizon CEO Rodney Hedeen in an interview with BtoB. No job cuts will result from the acquisition, he said. Financial terms were not disclosed, though Hedeen said it was a cash deal.
