Following the success of its Covermedia Magazine wrappers, Mediacy, a New York-based startup comprised of ad veterans from the out-of-home media sector, released its latest creation, BrandWrapper. The BrandWrapper offers a cost-effective alternative to standard advertising tactics by allowing advertisers to place brand messaging on the outside of any sandwich or food product wrapper in a high-visibility, attention-grabbing platform. “We are not in the elevator at work, inside your home or mailbox. We are not on the walls of smelly bath-rooms in stinky bars. We are there where you eat, drink, work out and get your nails and hair done,” said Mediacy CEO Michael Gitter. Mediacy has begun to create a network of coffee bars and delis, which will enable advertisers to create customized advertising placements to reach demographics in venue-specific markets. Mediacy has created projects including bar stools, coasters, earbuds, mirror clings, napkins, sampling jars and umbrella straws. —Tanya Meyer
