Ad pages down at 'Wall Street Journal,' 'Barron's'

New York--Continuing a long slide, Dow Jones & Co. reported Wednesday that July advertising volume at The Wall Street Journal’s U.S. edition, declined 4.4% compared with July 2002, with year-to-date linage down 8.8%. Technology advertising at the Journal was down 15.7%, and financial category advertising declined 14.2%. Dow Jones’ Barron’s saw national advertising pages decrease 9.1% per issue in July. Year-to-date linage at Barron's declined 21.3% on a per issue basis.
