Advanstar buys, shutters 'Motor Service'

Boston--Advanstar Communications Inc. announced Monday that it has acquired Motor Service magazine from MCA Communications L.L.C., formerly known as Adams Business Media. Motor Service will cease publication with the June 2002 issue and will be incorporated into Advanstar’s Motor Age. “Merging the magazine’s circulation will result in a stronger audience for our advertisers of automotive repair shops and service centers,” said Robert Krakoff, Advanstar’s chairman-CEO. "Advertisers can be confident their message is reaching the largest and most important audience in the market." Advanstar’s Automotive Group, in addition to Motor Age, includes Aftermarket Business and Automotive Body Repair News.
