AmEx, Digitas win ACE Awards 'Best in Show'

New York—American Express and its agency Digitas, Boston, won Best in Show for AmEx's "Small Business Saturday" campaign at the 30th annual ACE Awards, presented by the New York chapter of the Business Marketing Association. The awards, presented Wednesday at a ceremony here, recognize excellence in b-to-b marketing communications.

The "Small Business Saturday" campaign supported the AmEx-invented holiday held the Saturday after Thanksgiving to support small and local brick-and-mortar businesses. In addition to Best in Show, Digitas took first place honors for the same campaign in two other categories: B2B2C campaign and integrated marketing campaign, $1 million and more, and was recognized as well for its social media support of the campaign.

Other top ACE awards winners included Ogilvy & Mather, New York, for its "IBM Capabilities" campaign in the $250,000 budget and over category, and Eric Mower & Associates, Syracuse, N.Y. for its "Domtar Paper Because" ad, in the single ad category ($250,000 and over).

For best integrated marketing campaigns, budget of $250,000 to $1 million, co-winners were The Barbarian Group, Boston, for "The GE Show" and Hawkeye, Dallas, for its "PNC Commercial Multi-Phase Campaign." The top integrated marketing campaign, $250,000 and under, went to PJA Advertising+Marketing, Boston, for its "GE Healthcare IT Centricity" program.
