New York—American Express OPEN is promoting its second annual Small Business Saturday on Nov. 26, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. American Express OPEN is supporting the day, dedicated to encouraging small businesses, with an online campaign developed by Digitas, New York, that includes a website, Facebook page and marketing materials for partners. The company also debuted a TV spot, developed by CP+B, Boulder, Colo., as part of the campaign. Facebook, FedEx, Google, Verizon and Yahoo have signed on to help AmEx promote Small Business Saturday. FedEx, for example, is giving $1 million in Shop Small American Express gift cards to its customers (valued at $25 each) between now and Nov. 26.
