AppNexus raises $50 million in third-round funding

New York—Display ad bidding company AppNexus Inc. has raised $50 million in a third round of financing, with Microsoft Corp. joining existing backers in supplying an undisclosed proportion of the funding.

The financing also received participation from venture capital companies First Round Capital, Kodiak Venture Partners and Venrock, among others.

AppNexus’ real-time bidding ad platform allows companies to auction ads for space on publisher websites before the ads are served up on the page. AppNexus has raised a total of $65.5 million over the last three years.
