Overland Park, Kan.—Ascend Media announced on Monday that it has completed its acquisition of Clifton, N.J.-based SynerMed Communications and its subsidiary, IMED Communications. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
SynerMed Communications produces continuing medical education programs, delivered through a variety of media, including videotapes, audio CDs, Web-based learning, CD-ROMs, print media and live events.
The new acquisition will be branded as SynerMed Communications, an Ascend Media company.
"This acquisition will double the size of our company and triple our profits," said Cameron Bishop, Ascend Media’s president-CEO.
Ascend is backed by private equity banks J.P. Morgan Partners and Veronis Suhler Stevenson.
