B-to-b ad pages, spending increase

New York—For the second month in a row, b-to-b ad pages increased 3.7% in August compared with a year earlier, according to the Business Information Network (BIN) report released by American Business Media. Ad spending in August was up 4.6%. Year-to-date ad dollars showed a 1.7% increase, with ad pages up 0.7%. "We appear to be on track for 2% to 4% revenue growth in 2004," Gordon Hughes, ABM president-CEO, said in a statement. The home & building category posted the largest increase in August, with a 15.7% gain in ad pages. The software category showed the largest decline, with a drop of 12.1%.
