B-to-b ad spending up, pages down

New York -- B-to-b print advertising spending was up 3.3% in October compared with October 2002, while ad pages were down 2.8% in the same period, according to Business Information Network figures released Thursday by American Business Media.

Year to date, spending was up 0.4%, and pages were down 3.6%.

“We believe that [spending in] the fourth quarter will end up at around 3%, which will bring the full year up 1% from 2002,” Gordon Hughes, ABM’s president-CEO, said in a statement.
