Chicago--B2BWorks, an online business-to-business advertising network, announced it has received $2.3 million in financing from Primedia's IndustryClick, R.R. Donnelley & Sons and IDG Ventures. In addition to providing capital to B2BWorks, the three media-industry investors will provide access to Web tools, services and resources to the Web sites in the network. B2BWorks currently has 170 sites serving 75 vertical industry segments in its network. Sites in the network include those owned by Primedia's Intertec Publishing, Adams Business Media, Advanstar, The McGraw-Hill Cos., Penton Media and PennWell. B-to-b marketers using the network include Motorola, Tradeout.com, Cintas Corp. and E-Stamp. B2BWorks plans to introduce a sales lead management tool in the coming weeks. It also is negotiating a partnership deal to sell business content from New York-based Screaming Media to all member sites. Additionally, B2BWorks soon will be selling site-affiliate e-mail databases.
