Bing-Yahoo to offer new paid-search tracking features

Redmond, Wash.—Microsoft Corp. plans to introduce new paid-search features for its Bing search engine, which also is powering searches on Yahoo sites.

Microsoft adCenter, which handles pay-per-click ads, announced that it is adding budgeting improvements to its search ad tools, including the ability to track ad expenditures in “near real time,” as clicks are recorded, to help marketers adhere to specific ad budgets.

AdCenter also announced enhancements to reports that will provide information on conversion rates, revenue from conversions, advertising costs, visitor volume and e-commerce onsite behavior. In addition, AdCenter will provide new information about sources of traffic to an advertiser’s website and segmentation of traffic by such attributes as age, gender and geography, according to the company.
