'Bloomberg Businessweek' raises rate base

New York—Bucking trends in the magazine industry, Bloomberg Businessweek said it plans to raise its rate base to 980,000 from 900,000 early next year. The magazine said it added 37,000 individually paid subscribers in the second half of 2010, an increase of 7% over the year-earlier period.

Additionally, Bloomberg Businessweek said it will add European and Asian editions of the magazine early next year. "Bloomberg Businessweek has been consistently growing and we're building on this strong momentum and reader demand to expand our audience in the European and Asian markets," said Bloomberg Businessweek President Paul Bascobert in a statement.
