BtoB named Neal Awards double finalist

New York—BtoB has been named a double finalist in American Business Media's 59th annual Jesse H. Neal Awards, honoring excellence in business journalism. BtoB, a Crain Communications Inc. brand, garnered two of the four finalist slots in the Best Single Issue of a Tabloid/Newspaper category, midsize division. Honored were BtoB's March 12 and May 14, 2012 issues, which were among 184 finalists in 40 categories named today by ABM. “The Neal Awards often are called "the Pulitzer Prize' of the business press,” said Bob Felsenthal, BtoB publisher. “We're excited to again be named a finalist this year, and I congratulate the hard work of our entire team of editors, writers and production crew.” "It's an honor to be recognized for the solid research, reporting and writing that went into these two issues, which feature BtoB's annual special reports on Top B-to-B Agencies and the Media Power 50, respectively," said BtoB Editor John Obrecht. BtoB's March 12 issue included in-depth coverage of Facebook Inc.'s evolving clout in advertising, new social media techniques influencing marketing campaigns and a NetMarketing report highlighting the rapidly growing influence of mobile. BtoB's May 14 issue featured original research on trends in social media marketing and a multipage Lead Generation Guide on news, trends and case studies on the ways modern marketers are attracting new customers. The judging panel, chaired by New York Times financial reporter Diana B. Henriques, selected the finalists from an original pool of 640 entries. The winners will be announced March 12 during ABM's annual Neal Awards ceremony at Manhattan's Pier 60.
