Chicago--Click Commerce Inc. Wednesday delivered a new version of its e-commerce platform for helping companies manage their sales channel relationships online. Click Commerce 4.0 provides a Web-based front-end that lets companies set up predefined rules to govern how they deal with distributors, and even how those distributors deal with their ultimate customers. This so-called business-to-business-to-consumer process not only represents a nifty new buzzword--b-to-b-to-c--but a better way for companies to work with their sales channels rather than assuming the Internet must disintermediate all middlemen.
