CMGI to acquire Flycast for $690M

Andover, Mass.--CMGI has agreed to acquire Flycast Communications Corp., San Francisco, a Web-based provider of direct response advertising services, in a stock deal valued at nearly $690 million. The acquisition is the latest in a nearly $1.4 billion CMGI spending spree as the company strives to strengthen its interactive marketing and advertising properties. On Sept. 20, CMGI announced a deal to buy AdForce, a provider of centralized online advertising services, in a deal valued at about $500 million. Three days later, it said its Engage unit, a provider of profile-driven Internet marketing services, had agreed to acquire AdKnowledge, a Web marketing management services company, in a deal valued at nearly $200 million.
