CMO Council forms wireless marketing forum

Cannes, France—The Chief Marketing Officer Council has formed the Forum to Advance the Mobile Experience [FAME], a leadership group to promote wireless marketing.

FAME will produce events, seminars and focus groups on issues surrounding wireless marketing. A key contributor to the FAME initiative will be the GSM Association, a global trade association for wireless operators.

FAME is also expected to include approximately 200 mobile technology companies that are involved in the CMO Council, including Cingular, Google, Hewlett-Packard Co., Intel, Microsoft Corp. and Motorola.

The initiative was announced at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes.
