CMO Council partners with National Crime Prevention Council on ad campaign

New York—The Chief Marketing Officer Council has partnered with the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) to launch an ad campaign against cyber crime.

The campaign, which will have the tagline, “Take a bite out of cyber crime,” will feature NCPC’s cartoon character McGruff the Crime Dog.

Corporate sponsors include CNET Networks, Comcast, Intel Corp., McAfee Inc., USA Today and VeriSign. The CMO Council and NCPC are seeking additional corporate sponsors to help them develop the campaign.

The effort will educate computer users on how to fight against viruses, worms, spam, spyware, phishing, identity theft and other online crime.
