CMP looks to fill editorial slots

Manhasset, N.Y.--United Business Media’s CMP Media is looking to fill several editorial positions at Optimize and Information Week.

In the steep downturn of the past two to three years, tech media companies have often been content to allow editorial positions to remain unfilled. A spokesperson for CMP, however, said the company’s effort to fill vacated positions should not be seen as evidence that the downturn is ending.

“While the IT business is showing some signs of stabilization, these hires should not be construed as any sort of ramping up for recovery,” the spokesperson said in an email message. “We remain very cautious and we are not adding positions at this time.”
