CMP launches eeProductCenter

Manhasset, N.Y.--CMP Media’s Electronics Group, publisher of EE Times, announced Monday that it has launched eeProductCenter (, an online resource focusing on new integrated circuits and electronics components.

The new site, which replaces CMP’s ChipCenter site, will feature new-product announcements and product reviews. It is intended to be an alternative to the broad information provided by Internet searches and company-focused information provided by manufacturer Web sites.

The eeProductCenter staff includes a team of editors led by editorial director Stephan Ohr.

“We are applying an editorial filter,” said David Blaza, associate publisher of EE Times. “There is a tremendous amount of information coming from semiconductor manufacturers. Some of these companies launch hundreds of products a year. Today no print publication can really cover them effectively.”

CMP Media will now focus its new-product coverage on the Web, but EE Times will still publish its regular eeProductWeek section, based on data published online at eeProductCenter.
