CNET debuts e-mail catalogs for tech marketers

San Francisco--CNET Networks, Inc. announced Monday a new e-mail based electronic catalog program for technology marketers.

The program, which CNET provides through a partnership with Mobular Technologies, is already being used by Gateway Computer Corp., which began using the product last month.

The e-catalogs can include hundreds of products in a single e-mailing, which CNET says makes them more scalable than html e-mail newsletters, which typically contain a handful of products. Another advantage of the e-catalog format, according to CNET, is that the information can be “downloaded and stored directly on the recipient’s computer, resulting in fast and easy product searches through the catalog without having to connect to the Internet.”
