San Francisco--CNET Networks Inc. announced LaunchPad Download Express, a new program designed to help software developers create awareness of new product launches and software updates.

So far, 12 marketers have signed up for the program, including Adobe Systems Inc., Computer Associates International and Trend Micro Inc.

The program is an extension of CNET's LaunchPad service, a marketing program for technology vendors that want to reach IT buyers across CNET's network of sites.

Download Express is geared specifically toward software companies and is integrated into CNET's site, which offers more than 35,000 software trials and supports more than 2.2 million downloads a day.

Features of the service include ad placement, file hosting, lists of opt-in customers, campaign research and usage reports. Download Express can be purchased separately or as part of CNET's LaunchPad program.
