San Diego—The growth in paid search spending is beginning to slow down, according to Covario Inc.’s second quarter Global Search Spend Analysis.
According to the report, paid search spending grew by 43% in the second quarter over the first quarter, down from a gain of 52% in the first quarter over the previous quarter.
The report analyzes paid search data from more than two dozen of the world’s largest search advertisers.
It found that Yahoo’s share of paid search in the North American market increased from 10% in the first quarter to 14% in the second quarter.
Google’s share of the North American paid search market decreased from 86% in the first quarter to 81% in the second quarter.
