Fort Atkinson, Wis.—Cygnus Business Media last week announced that it has instituted what it is calling a “new organizational architecture.” With the new organizational structure, Cygnus will ultimately be divided into four groups or “affinity networks.”
The first group, aviation, will be led by Pat Nadler, who is now exec VP-aviation. He will manage aspects of Cygnus Aviation, including print, trade shows, online, digital and data. Reporting to Nadler will be three VPs; one controlling content, another sales and a third marketing.
Three additional groups, to be unveiled in the next 18 months, are public safety and security; building and construction; and agriculture, according to Cygnus.
In an interview with BtoB, Cygnus CEO John French said a driving force behind the organizational change was to give employees on the front line the ability to make faster decisions to serve their industry. “This is not about trying to save money,” French said. “This is actually going to cost us money. This is an investment, but we really feel it’s something different and will enable us to serve our customers better.”
