Direct Marketing Association says industry continues to expand

New York—The direct marketing industry continued to boost revenues in last year’s fourth quarter, the 10th in a row to show growth, according to the Direct Marketing Association’s Quarterly Business Review.

The QBR is based on three online surveys of direct marketing, supplier and agency members of the DMA.

Revenue in the fourth quarter of 2005 indexed at 68, the DMA said. (A score of 50 represents no change.) Profitability numbers were strong, with all three constituent groups indexing in the 70s.

Projected revenues for the current quarter also look promising, with an overall index of 64.
