DMA 2011: Gilt Groupe wins DMA marketer of the year

Boston—Online shopping destination Gilt Groupe was named marketer of the year by the Direct Marketing Association for achievements in multichannel direct marketing. Recognized today at DMA's convention and expo here, Gilt was cited for the successful launches of such new sites as Gilt Taste and Gilt Home, as well as for its continuing global expansion. Other awards presented at DMA: 2011 included:
  • B-to-b marketer of the year: Cindy Humphrey, VP-product and marketing, CenturyLink Business
  • Financial services direct marketer of the year: Aaron Davis, exec VP, DataLab USA
  • Insurance direct marketer of the year: Warren Hunter, chairman, DMW Direct
  • Financial services company of the year: Acxiom Corp.
  • Insurance company of the year: The Hartford

DMA also recognized several companies for advancement in direct and digital marketing technology, with the association's Innovation Award. They included:

  • Digital media marketing: Canoe Ventures
  • Brand, social, and content marketing: CGSM
  • Database, measurement and attribution: ConvergeDirect;
  • Real time and trigger marketing: Edo Interactive
  • Campaign and marketing operations management: Encompass Elements
  • Mobile marketing: Mogreet Inc.
  • Loyalty: GPShopper

DMA's conference and expo concludes Thursday.
