DMA creates 'Certified Marketing Professional' designation

New York—The Direct Marketing Association has created a new certification program recognizing competency in core aspects of direct-marketing. In-person courses for the DMA Certified Marketing Professional program are available now through the association, with online certification courses to be added this fall. Attendance at certain events at DMA's annual conference and exposition, October 17–22, in San Diego, Calif., will count toward certification credits, the organization said. Initial program courses will be in English and Japanese, with discussions underway to partner with international organizations to tailor the course program in Argentina, Brazil, China, Dubai, Egypt, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa and Spain, DMA said. The program is open to all marketers, with special pricing available for DMA members.
