DoubleClick agrees to buy SmartPath

New York--DoubleClick announced Tuesday it has agreed to acquire SmartPath, a marketing resource management software provider.

Financial terms of the cash deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition will enable DoubleClick to add planning and operational services to its range of client services. It will sell SmartPath's software through its direct sales force as both a standalone product and as part of an integrated service solution.

DoubleClick said it plans to keep its marketing resource management capabilities in Research Triangle Park, N.C., where SmartPath is headquartered, and it expects to increase staff at that location.
