In addition to providing news and information on companies, the new version of the product is designed to alert salespeople to “triggers” that might indicate a sales opportunity at companies they follow. These triggers, which are sent via e-mail, include management moves and product launches.
Additionally, Dow Jones Companies & Executives includes a mapping of executives and their work histories. Using this feature, salespeople can use their own organization's in-house e-mail systems, such as Microsoft Outlook, or social networks, such as LinkedIn, to uncover possible connections between themselves and prospects.
The product is available both as a Web application and as a series of widgets that can be integrated into CRM systems.
