Dow Jones Newswires introduces sales-force CRM platform

New York--In a bid to build its sales force's effectiveness amid the sourest publishing environment in a decade, Dow Jones Newswires has launched a Web-based sales-force customer relationship management platform. Developed by San Francisco-based Inc., it will allow the 100 sales employees of the Dow Jones & Co. Inc. subsidiary to collaborate online on customer service queries and marketing-related issues. The platform will also allow the entire customer sales call lifecycle to be tracked online, allowing for cross-marketing. The launch comes soon after Dow Jones reported a steep decline in second-quarter earnings, triggering layoffs.
