Economist Group reports increased revenue

London—The Economist Group reported that its overall revenue increased 8% to $525.6 million in fiscal 2008, which ended March 31.

Additionally, the company, which publishes The Economist and CFO, saw its operating profit increase 23% to 87.4 million. While many general-business magazines struggle, The Economist’s U.S. print advertising revenue rose 16% in fiscal 2008, and its total circulation increased 9% to 1.3 million.
