Eloqua to offer Chatter

Vienna, Va.—Marketing automation company Eloqua Corp. has forged a deal with sales force automation company Inc. to offer Salesforce's Chatter social media collaboration tool within the Eloqua dashboard. Chatter Inside Eloqua, available free to Eloqua users in the fourth quarter, will provide the same Twitter-like interface that Chatter offers to Salesforce customers, allowing project co-workers to crowd-source ideas via broadcasted updates, posted messages and requests for advice and feedback on projects. According to Eloqua, the integration will also help close the gap between marketing and sales. “Collaboration is the last barrier to getting sales and marketing aligned,” Rob Bois, Eloqua manager-product marketing, told BtoB. “It also will help within large global enterprises because often many more people than just marketing and sales are involved in efforts to build campaigns, including outside agencies.” Bois said Eloqua customers who are Salesforce clients will see the greatest alignment and collaboration, but the Chatter function will be available to companies using an SFA solution other than Salesforce as well.
