eMarketer: Advertisers to spend $5.6 billion on YouTube

New York—Advertisers are on track to spend $5.60 billion on YouTube this year, up 51.4% from last year, according to a report by eMarketer. After paying back advertising partners and video content creators, YouTube is expected to net $1.96 billion in ad revenue worldwide this year, up 65.5% over 2012. YouTube will reach a 20.5% share of the overall $4.15 billion U.S. video ad market by year's end, eMarketer projects. Video ad revenue is expected to increase significantly in coming years for YouTube's U.S. operations as mobile video viewership grows, eMarketer said.
