Executives ponder streaming media future

New York-Online entertainment company has called for the development of standards for streaming media advertising, and formed a steering committee to select the correct ways to measure audiences, deliver advertisements and sell the space. The company brought together executives from media companies and advertising agencies and others to create the Streaming Media Advertising Advisory Council. Bob Meyrowitz, president-CEO of, said streaming media is too difficult to deliver and measure because of the large number of proprietary techniques used by development and delivery services. The panel includes executives from The Arbitron Co., MediaCom and Nielsen Media Research.
