Facebook, LinkedIn ready mobile ads

Menlo Park, Calif.—Facebook will introduce advertising units on mobile devices beginning in March; LinkedIn is preparing to do the same, but with no timeline announced. Facebook will partner with mobile technology and payment company Bango, based in Cambridge, England, to start offering ads on Facebook's mobile versions beginning in March. Meanwhile, LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner announced on Thursday during the company's earnings conference that LinkedIn also will introduce advertising on mobile devices in the near future. Currently 15% of all LinkedIn users access the service via mobile devices.
