Facebook releases new version of Insights analytics tool

Palo Alto, Calif.—Facebook has augmented its analytics tool for business websites to help businesses optimize their websites and fan pages for Facebook users.

Facebook Insights for Websites now will measure in real time the performance of such Facebook plug-ins as “likes,” which companies insert on their websites. Businesses will be able to see how many people clicked on “like” buttons on their own sites or those who viewed comments on Facebook and clicked to visit site content.

Facebook Insights also now can measure how people are sharing links to company sites via Wall posts, according to a Facebook blog post.
