Financial Times debuts 'gift article' feature

London—The Financial Times, which offers a metered-access paid subscription model for both online and mobile Web access, has launched a "gift article' feature for subscribers. The service allows FT subscribers to share up to 10 articles per month through email to nonsubscribers. Currently in the beta phase, the gift article feature is now available to desktop readers and will be extended to users of FT's HTML5-based Web app after an initial trial, the company said in a statement. “The gift article is a great example of the tools we are developing to advance our community focus and bring new benefits to subscribers,” said Rob Grimshaw, managing director of, in the statement.
