Global Sources reports declines in net income, revenue

New York—Global Sources, a b-to-b media company that generates most of its revenue from China, posted first-quarter revenue of $34.8 million, down 14% from the year-earlier period.

The company reported net income was $1.3 million, down from $8.2 million in last year’s first quarter.

“As we anticipated, during the first quarter we were significantly impacted by the global recession,” Global Sources Chairman-CEO Merle A. Hinrichs said in a statement.
