GlobalSpec survey finds 38% of industrial marketers spending more this year

Troy, N.Y.—Despite the ailing economy, 38% of industrial marketers will spend more on marketing this year than they did last year, according to a new report by GlobalSpec.

The report was based on an online survey of 468 industrial marketers. According to the survey, 42% of marketers said the economy will not affect their marketing budgets this year.

The study also found that online is commanding a greater share of the total marketing budget, with 30% of industrial marketers spending more than half of their total marketing budgets online, up from 20% last year.

Also, 72% of respondents said customer acquisition or lead generation is their primary marketing goal this year.
