Jericho, N.Y.—Google ranked No. 1 in General Sentiment's “Q2 Top Global Brands” report, with an estimated $973 million in media value. The report ranks brands based on the number, frequency and sentiment of news mentions and social media conversations using a proprietary methodology developed by social media monitoring company General Sentiment. Apple was the No. 2 brand, with $849 million in media value, and Microsoft ranked third, at $690 million, according to the report. Rounding out the top 10 brands were Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Yahoo, Sony, Intel, Canon and Panasonic.
