Top achievements of 2007: TechTarget’s most notable accomplishment this year was becoming “the first online advertising b-to-b company to go public,” Strakosch said. The initial public offering in May raised $100 million, as the company began trading under the symbol TTGT on the NASDAQ market. The proceeds will finance the development of new products, sales and marketing activities, and capital expenditures, among other uses. Also this year, TechTarget acquired the portfolio of content sites and Ajaxian, a Web site and conference for Ajax developers. TechTarget also introduced its first virtual trade show and, a site that uses Web 2.0 technologies to facilitate peer-to-peer communication, collaboration and user blogs.

Top priorities for 2008: “Going forward, we will continue to lead and innovate in regard to targeted, expert online content, user-generated content, vendor content syndication, new product innovation and, most important, measuring and improving ROI for our advertisers,” Strakosch said.
