Ha-Lo reports slow growth, preps for future

Promotional products distributor Ha-Lo Industries, Chicago, reported Thursday first-quarter revenue of $161.2 million and a net loss of $4.6 million, compared with revenue of $157 million and a net loss of $4.2 million a year earlier. Ha-Lo is expected to close its acquisition of Inc. next week, paving the way for top-line revenue growth through new and advanced services, The report precedes Ha-Lo's $240 million acquisition of Starbelly, which will provide Ha-Lo with an Internet platform for coordinating promotional campaigns for national clients.
