Hong Kong leads world in high-speed Internet access, Nielsen reports

Stamford, Conn.--Hong Kong leads the world in high-speed Internet connections, with 66% of its Internet audience using a high-speed phone line or cable modem for access, according to the Nielsen//NetRatings Global Internet Trends report for the second quarter. Hong Kong is followed by Germany, where 45% of Internet users have high-speed access, and Sweden, with 43% using high-speed connections. The U.S. ranked tenth, with only 17% of the Internet audience hooking up via high-speed connections.
