House passes fax bill benefiting publishers

Washington, D.C.—The U.S. House of Representatives last passed the Junk Fax Protection Act of 2005, a bill that is seen as a boon to publishers. The bill benefits publishers because it permits the sending of advertising and circulation renewal faxes when there is an established business relationship. There is no need for "express invitation or permission" as is the standard in the present law.
