IAB releases mobile in-application ad format benchmarks

New York—The Interactive Advertising Bureau today released “Prevailing Mobile In-Application Advertising Formats,” a benchmark study of the most common ad formats being used for mobile marketing. The study evaluates the prevailing ad formats for the Android, BlackBerry, iPad, iPhone/iPod Touch, Palm, Symbian and Windows Mobile platforms. Among the components of the study is an overview of the most common ad formats being sold by mobile app publishers; similarities and differences in ad sizes among app providers; and the launch of a new resource that the IAB will regularly update to help advertisers keep up with new mobile ad formats.
