IAB says more sites are using larger ad units

New York--The Internet Advertising Bureau said an increasing number of sites are implementing the new ad formats proposed by the trade association in February, despite a Jupiter Media Metrix Inc. report last month that showed less than 5 % of sites were implementing the new formats. "To expect that we'd see massive movement to these guidelines in barely two days according to the recent report by AdRelevance is, to put it gently…unrealistic," said Robin Webster, IAB CEO, referring to the report from the ad tracking division of Jupiter Media Metrix. However, Webster said the study was useful in that it set a benchmark. Now, more sites are offering the new larger and vertical ad units, including,!,,, and, and the will begin using the ads this month, the IAB reports.
