IAEE creates social media task force

Dallas—The International Association of Exhibitions and Events announced the creation of a social media task force to develop best practices for the use of social channels within the expo and events industry.

The task force will be headed by Chris Brogan, president of social media agency New Marketing Labs. IAEE has set a deadline of July 1 for the task force to develop its social best practices.

Chris Meyer, VP-sales with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and IAEE chairman, said creation of the task force was prompted by association members’ intimidation and puzzlement over how best to use the different social media networks as marketing and communications vehicles.
