IBM launches business-intelligence ad campaign

Somers, N.Y.--IBM Corp. debuted Wednesday a $30 million integrated marketing campaign to promote the company's capabilities in business intelligence, which is the gathering, management and analysis of data on a company's customers, products and services. In the fourth-quarter marketing effort, which is a new facet of IBM's ongoing e-business campaign, the company will feature its server and storage hardware, database software and consulting services. Business intelligence will become a central focus of IBM's Global Services and "Magic Box" server campaigns. The business-intelligence campaign will use print, television, direct mail and Internet marketing to reach marketing and information technology directors in the insurance, financial and retail industries.
